Digital Photos & Beach Photography
Memorable Vacation Photography

Let's face it. Who doesn't like the beach? It's almost the perfect place to soak in some free and expansive thinking, not to mention some enriching sun ray vitamins.

But let's talk about using cameras on the beach, as beach photography is almost what this article is all about. Honestly, it's pretty straight forward when it comes to using a digital camera on the beach.

Let's look into it. One of the first things you're going to need to think about is some sort of sand and water protection. Protection from salt water spray, and from sand that sometimes is carried in the wind.

Depending on what type of camera you use the solution is probably to be careful when you pull the camera out and keep it wrapped up when not using it. Be aware how hot it gets on the beach too.

Remember, no trees down there. (At least, none that I saw last time I went).

You could also use some of those clear perspex camera cases too that fit around your camera protecting it from the elements.

The next thing about beach photography is to think about the position of the sun and how the brightness will affect the photos you take. People tend to squint when looking into the sun. As long as you are conscious of this, you should be able to work around it.

Creating photos both in the earlier part of the day and late afternoon have a softer and richer light. Use this to your advantage. Those times really do make for powerful photography.

You'll also need some spares such as memory cards, or long lens, maybe some filters, and so forth. You'll know what you need.

The magic happens when you can work with the space, the color and the people in your shots. My recommendation is that you always shoot more than you need especially if you're happy with all the elements and the time is right.
